Village of Sheridan Board met April 10.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The Board of Trustees met on the above date with the following members present: Bill Clemens, Shelly Figgins, Jon Walker, Randy McMurray and Jeff Wilhelm.

Bills for March 2017 in the amount of $28,646.49 were presented for payment. Bill Clemens motioned to approve the bills as presented. Shelly Figgins 2nd. Motion Carried.

Minutes for March 2017 were presented. Shelly Figgins motioned to approve the minutes as written. Bill Clemens 2nd. Motion Carried.

Randy McMurray gave the finance report for March 2017 with an ending balance of $1,076,857.14. Jeff Wilhelm motioned to approve the finance report. Jon Walker 2nd. Motion Carried.

Correspondence: None

Committee Reports:

Jeff Wilhelm, Streets Committee, reported that H & H Builders had completed the outside work on the maintenance building. He stated having the need to call in an electrician for repair work in order for them to complete the siding. Jeff motioned to pay Correct Electric $888.85 for power replacement. Bill Clemens 2nd. Motion Carried. Jeff also stated he will begin having the maintenance men fill out equipment/vehicle log sheets for their upkeep.

Jon Walker, Sewer Committee, stated having one permit in the works for repairs at the Sheridan Bank.

Shelly Figgins, Zoning Committee, reported having no permits issued. She also mentioned that the state is needing a date for record destruction for the old village papers. They would be looking into having a document shredding company come in to destroy old documents after final approval from the state. She would possibly like to open this up to residents as well. Several companies will be called for pricing and reported at the next meeting.

Bill Clemens, Police Committee, gave the police report. Mayor Anderson mentioned April 27th will be the 5th grade DARE graduation at the Sheridan Grade School.

Jeff Wilhelm reported in Peggy’s absence that 14 Christmas lights have been ordered for the holiday decorations. He also received one bid for repainting of the gazebo at the park from H & H Builders. Peggy will contact others and report at the next meeting.

New Business:

Mayor Anderson introduced a Resolution Appointing a Part Time Maintenance Person. Jeff Wilhelm motioned to approve resolution 2017-05. Shelly Figgins 2nd. Motion Carried.

Mayor Anderson introduced an Ordinance Authorizing Sale of Dump Truck. Jeff Wilhelm motioned to approve ordinance 2017-06. Randy McMurray 2nd. Motion Carried.

Mayor Anderson introduced an Ordinance Authorizing Sale of Streets Equipment. Jeff Wilhelm motioned to approve Ordinance 2017-07. Bill Clemens 2nd. Motion Carried.

Mayor Anderson introduced a Resolution for Maintenance Under the Illinois Highway Code. Jeff Wilhelm motioned to approve Resolution 2017-08 with an MFT budget of $85,000 for repairs on N Robinson Street. Shelly Figgins 2nd. Motion Carried.

Mayor Anderson introduced a Resolution Adopting Tentative Budget for Fiscal Year 2017/2018. Randy McMurray motioned to approve Resolution 2017-09. Jeff Wilhelm 2nd. Motion Carried.

Public Comment:

Terry Greenrod asked if the board would refer to the maintenance men using their given names.

James Skalic showed interest in the vacant position on the board next month. Shelly asked if he or any others would write a letter of interest and turn in to the office.

There being no further business, Jeff Wilhelm motioned to adjourn the meeting. Shelly Figgins 2nd. Motion Carried and the meeting adjourned.
