Village of Ladd Board met July 11.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The Ladd Village Board met in regular session at 6:30pm on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, in the Village Hall. President Mike Grivetti called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance to the American flag.

Roll Call:

Present – Trustees Frank Cattani, Jim Manning, Dan Nelson, Andy Ruggerio, Mike Urbanowski (5) Trustee Jan Martin arrived at 6:32pm.

In attendance – Attorney Pat Barry, Clerk Diane Chandler, Treasurer Rhonda Bezely, Engineer Adam Ossola

Motion Cattani – Second Urbanowski to accept the (6/27/17 meeting) minutes, as presented.

Ayes: Cattani, Manning, Nelson, Ruggerio, Urbanowski

Motion carried 5-0.

Trustee Martin arrived.

Motion Urbanowski – Second Ruggerio to pay the bills in the amount of $24,948.43.

Ayes: Cattani, Manning, Martin, Nelson, Ruggerio, Urbanowski

Motion carried 6-0.

Public Comment:

Ladd resident Steve Steele addressed the board with his concerns on the relocation of the trash receptacle from Joe’s Pizza, gravel left on the sidewalk, trash left behind after events held at the Cancun, the lack of sweeping on Main Street, clogged sewer grates, locked restrooms at the park and dogs allowed to run loose in town.

Engineer’s Report:

IDOT resolution – Ossola informed the board of an Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) resolution required for the Casey’s force main sewer project to be constructed in the state’s right-of-way. The resolution states that the Village agrees to oversee the construction, will ensure that the restoration is done properly and that the contractor does what he should. Cleveland Street patching – Ossola measured the areas on Cleveland Street to be patched following the East

End Electric Upgrade project. There is quite a bit more patching than was initially assumed to be done. A revised estimate of cost will require approval before patching can be done. Ossola has obtained pricing from Advanced Asphalt for the job.

Motion Cattani – Second Manning to pass an IDOT resolution for the installation of a force main sewer for Casey’s General

Store.

Ayes: Cattani, Manning, Martin, Nelson, Ruggerio, Urbanowski

Motion carried 6-0.

Attorney’s Report:

None

No quotes has been received to repair the leaking roof at the Ladd Community Center so the item will be tabled until the July 25th meeting.

Motion Cattani – Second Urbanowski to approve L.E. Myers pay request #4 of $92,613.98 for work completed on the East End Electric Upgrade project.

Ayes: Cattani, Manning, Martin, Nelson, Ruggerio, Urbanowski

Motion carried 6-0.

Motion Manning – Second Urbanowski to authorize Grivetti to sign the Illinois Municipal League Risk Management Association Intergovernmental Cooperation Contract.

Ayes: Cattani, Manning, Martin, Nelson, Ruggerio, Urbanowski

Motion carried 6-0.

Announcements:

 Ladd Daze will be held on July 21-23.

 A note of appreciation for the Village’s quick response to Curt Frund’s electric problem.

 The need for a stop sign at the exit of the Village’s water treatment plant on East Cleveland Street.

 The weeds are overgrown at War Memorial Park.

 The issue of a 4-way stop at Cedar Street & Central Avenue.

Motion Cattani – Second Ruggerio to adjourn.

Motion carried 6-0.

The meeting adjourned at 7:03pm.
