City of Peru Committee of the Whole met July 24.

A Committee Of A Whole meeting was called to order by Scott J. Harl in the Peru City Council Chambers on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 6:00 p.m.
City Clerk Dave Bartley called the roll with Aldermen Potthoff, Ferrari, Waldorf, Lukosus, Radtke, Sapienza, Payton and Ballard present; Mayor Harl present.
Minutes
City Clerk Dave Bartley presented the Committee Of A Whole Minutes of July 10, 2017. Alderman Waldorf made a motion that the minutes be received and placed on file. Alderman Sapienza seconded the motion; motion carried.
Closed Session
Mayor Harl asked for a motion to go into closed session to discuss meetings held to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity; meetings on collective negotiating matters between the public body and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees; meetings to discuss the operation by a municipality of a municipal utility or the operation of a municipal power agency or a municipal power agency or a municipal natural gas agency when the discussion involves (i) contracts relating to the purchase, sale or delivery of electricity or natural gas, or (ii) the results or conclusions of load forecast studies and meetings where the purchase or lease of real property for the use of the public body is being considered, including meetings held for the purposed of discussing whether a particular parcel should be acquired; meetings to consider the sale or purchase of securities, investments or investment contracts. Alderman Potthoff made a motion to go into closed session. Alderman Waldorf seconded the motion. City Clerk Dave Bartley called the roll with Aldermen Potthoff, Ferrari, Waldorf, Lukosus, Radtke, Sapienza, Payton and Ballard voting aye; motion carried.
Closed session began at 6:04 p.m.; ended 6:56 p.m.
Alderman Ferrari made a motion to re-open the meeting at 6:58 p.m. Alderman Lukosus seconded the motion. City Clerk Dave Bartley called the roll with Aldermen Potthoff, Ferrari, Waldorf, Lukosus, Radtke, Sapienza, Payton and Ballard present;
Mayor Harl present.
Adjournment
Alderman Payton made a motion that the meeting be adjourned. Alderman Sapienza seconded the motion and motion carried. Meeting adjourned 6:58 p.m.
