Report: Mendota School District spent $14,288 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Mendota Township High School District 280 was up 12.6 percent from five years ago, according to the Illinois Valley Times analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the La Salle County school district spent $12,684 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $14,288 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 577 to 522 students over the same period.

Mendota's spending in 2019-20 was 1.4 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
