APPROVAL OF MINUTES 

Minutes of the Regular City Council meeting held August 8, 2022.

DISCUSSION AND POTENTIAL ACTION ON THE FOLLOWING PETITIONS: Request from Ameren Illinois to break ground at:

• 830 11th Street to replace a pole.

• 1601 Rockwell Road to replace a pole.

Request for a streetlight in the alley west of 1511 Creve Coeur and related matters.

Request from Bradley Gruenwald of Grueny’s Detailing and Powder Coating, for a special event permit to close 27th Street to Hennepin Street for a car show and open house with prizes and related matters.

Discussion and potential action on request of the Perfectly Flawed Foundation to place “inspirational” yard signs on Bucklin Street and/or at Rotary Park for the nationwide “Turning the Town Purple” campaign and related matters.

REPORTS OF CITY OFFICERS 

Treasurer’s Report for July 2022 showing total cash balances in La Salle State Bank of $12,614,396.69 and in Hometown National Bank of $6,111,284.59.

COMMUNICATIONS 

Illinois Department of Revenue report showing sales tax collected for May 2022 of $97,624.12 and Home Rules Sales Tax of $85,299.90 for a total of $182,924.02.

BIDS 

APPOINTMENTS 

Recommendation of the Police Chief and the Board of Fire and Police Commission to promote Brian Zebron to the position of Sergeant from the Sergeant’s Eligibility List and related matters.

Appointment of Chief Mike Smudzinski to the Illinois Valley Regional Dispatch board and related matters.

Appointment of Curt Bedei to the role of La Salle’s Economic Development Director and related matters.

STANDING COMMITTEES 

Discussion and potential action on the recommendation of the Finance Committee regarding purchase of a 2023 Ford F750 Dump Truck/Snow Plow and related matters.

Discussion and potential action on the recommendation of the Finance Committee regarding selection and approval of quote for Veteran’s Memorial Pool repairs and related matters.

Discussion and potential action on the recommendation of the Finance Committee regarding extending iFiber connection to La Salle Wastewater Treatment Plant, 200 River Road, and related matters.

SPECIAL COMMITTEES

Discussion and potential action regarding regularly scheduled update on 801-805 First Street building and related matters.

Review, discussion, and potential action on requests for proposal for solid waste services (garbage) and related matters.

DISCUSSION AND POTENTIAL ACTION ON THE FOLLOWING ADDITIONAL ORDINANCES/RESOLUTIONS: 

Ordinance related to entry into solid waste garbage disposal agreement, also related to fees to City households, and related matters.

Ordinance confirming compliance commitment agreement with Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (Cannon Water Tower) and related matters.

COMMENTS 

EXECUTIVE SESSION 

Regarding pending and/or potentially imminent litigation and related matters: Collective bargaining and related matters, and acquisition and/or sale of city real estate and related matters and the employment, discipline, appointment, performance and/or compensation of non-union and/or union personnel and related matters pursuant to the Open Meetings Act including 5-ILCS 120 Section 2(c)1-2,5,6,11 thereof.
