There were 45 offenders released on parole during 2019 that live near Illinois zip code 61350, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Illinois Valley Times.
The data shows that 37 men and eight women were released in Ottawa zip code. The median age of the parolees was 34. The youngest parolee was a 19-year-old man convicted of a property crime in 2018, and the oldest was a 61-year-old man convicted of a financial crime or fraud in 2019.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Orozco Monico. He was convicted of homicide in 2001, when he was 20 years old. He is now 39.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
