The data shows that seven men and three women were released in Peru zip code. The median age of the parolees was 36. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old man convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2017, and the oldest was a 52-year-old woman convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2018.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Jose Padilla. He was convicted of a property crime in 2014, when he was 46 years old. He is now 51.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
