City of LaSalle Finance Committee met July 7

CALL TO ORDER

Chairman Ptak called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

ROLL CALL

Present: Chairman Ptak, Aldermen Demes, Thompson, Reynolds, Lavieri, Jeppson, Herndon, and Crane

Others Present: Deputy Clerk Brent Bader, Finance Director John Duncan, Economic Development Director Curt Bedei, Fire Chief Jerry Janick

A quorum was present.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Moved by Alderman Reynolds and seconded by Alderman Thompson to approve the minutes of the Finance Committee meeting from the June 23, 2025, meeting.

Voice vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

DISCUSSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Finance Director John Duncan indicated there is nothing new to add to the discussion of the fiscal year 2026 Appropriations. The TIF numbers have been received and added to it.

(The numbers originate at the County, go to the TIF administrator, and are then sent to the City.)

Alderman Lavieri prompted discussion of potential deficits resulting from the appropriations. Duncan indicated there are fund balances that will cover any deficits in the appropriations.

Moved by Alderman Lavieri and seconded by Alderman Herndon to recommend to the Council to approve the bid for the Garfield Water Tower Valve Replacement from Nelson Carlson Mechanical Contractors at a cost of $17,500.

NAYS: NONE Absent: NONE Abstain: NONE

MOTION CARRIED: 8-0-0

ADJOURNMENT

Moved by Alderman Reynolds and seconded by Alderman Thompson to adjourn the meeting.

Voice vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

Chairman Ptak adjourned the meeting at 6:07 p.m.
