City of LaSalle Finance Committee met March 2

CALL TO ORDER 

Chairman Ptak called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. 

ROLL CALL 

Present: Chairman Ptak, Aldermen Demes, Thompson, Reynolds, Lavieri, Jeppson, Herndon, and Crane 

Others Present: Finance Director John Duncan, Economic Development Director Curt Bedei, Fire Chief Jerry Janick, Police Chief Jason Stubler, and City Engineer Brian Brown 

A quorum was present. 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES 

Moved by Alderman Reynolds and seconded by Alderman Thompson to approve the minutes of the Finance Committee meeting from the February 17, 2026, meeting. 

Voice vote, all ayes. Motion carried. 

DISCUSSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS 

Mr. Robert Navarro, President and CEO of Heritage Corridor Destinations, updated the committee on statistics regarding visitors and spending amounts and habits in the City of La Salle in 2025. Marketing campaigns were also discussed, as well as the grant for Frosty on First. 

Moved by Alderman Jeppson and seconded by Alderman Reynolds to recommend to the Council to approve renewal of the annual membership renewal with Heritage Corridor Destinations for $9,000 and related matters.

MOTION CARRIED: 8-0-0
