Earlville Community Unit School District 9 announced on Feb. 28 the launch of a new mobile app designed to provide families with easy access to sports scores, cafeteria menus, news updates, and emergency notifications.
The introduction of the app aims to make school information more accessible for parents, students, and staff by putting important updates directly in their pockets. The district serves both LaSalle and DeKalb counties and includes Earlville Elementary School as well as Earlville Junior/Senior High School, according to the Illinois Report Card available online.
The district reported an enrollment of 398 students during the 2019-2020 school year and offers education from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. It is located in Earlville within LaSalle County according to state data. In terms of staffing, there are 36 teachers with an average salary of $45,677 before pension contributions; about three-quarters are women and one-quarter are men. No teachers had more than ten absences in a school year as reported by the Illinois State Board of Education.
Demographically, the student body is composed of approximately 83 percent White students, less than one percent Black students, and about 14 percent Hispanic students according to ISBE figures. The district spent $20,660 per student in 2020 for a total expenditure of $8,222,584 according to official records.
Chronic truancy remains relatively low in the district compared to statewide averages. There were seven chronically truant students enrolled in the 2020 school year—a rate of just under two percent—while the statewide average stands at nearly ten percent according to ISBE data.
The new app is available for download on both Android and iPhone devices.
