There were 37 offenders released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2019 that live in LaSalle County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Illinois Valley Times.

The data shows that 33 men and four women were released in LaSalle County. The median age of the parolees was 35. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2018, and the oldest was a 62-year-old woman sentenced for a crime involving alcohol in 2016.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Andrew McCullum. He was convicted of a property crime in 2013 when he was 18 years old. He is now 25.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
