There were three offenders released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2020 that live in Bureau County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Illinois Valley Times.

The data shows that all of the released offenders in Bureau County were men. The median age of the parolees was 37. The youngest parolee was a 32-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2019, and the oldest was a 44-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2020.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Steven W. Hufnagel. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2019 when he was 34 years old. He is now 36.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the fourth quarter of 2020 in each Bureau County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
