Sandwich Finance Committee discusses proposed health insurance spike

At a recent meeting, the Sandwich Finance Committee discussed 

the proposed 28 percent increase in city health insurance

premiums.

The Sandwich Finance Committee is a standing committee of the city council. Members advise the council on all financial matters affecting the community.

Tuesday, September 6, 2016

Finance Chairwoman Killey called the meeting to order immediately following the

Committee-of-the-Whole Council Meeting at 7:58 PM

Roll call was taken:

Present: City Clerk Ii, Aldermen Dell, Killey & Robinson

Also Present: Mayor Olson, Aldermen Frazer & Moran

Review of Semi-Monthly Bills: Bills reviewed to be submitted for payment approval at the Regular

Council Meeting on September 12, 2016.

New Business: After being announced at the foregoing committee council meeting, the finance

committee stressed the need to start discussing the proposed 28% increase in health insurance

premiums. Suggestions were offered calling for additional or quarterly meetings prior to the budget

planning process that begins in January. No action was taken.

Adjournment

There being no further business to come before the Committee, motion made by Alderman

Robinson and seconded by Alderwoman Killey to adjourn the Finance Committee meeting at

8:15 PM. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
