Jack Mitchell called the meeting to order at 12:50 p.m.

Moved by Phil McNally, second by Jim Reilly to approve the August 17, 2017 minutes as written. All ayes. Motion passed.

Public Comment

None.

Moved by Rob Schmitt, second by Jean Eltrevoog that the Water/Wastewater Final Eligibility register, as shown below, be adopted.

FINAL ELIGIBILITY REGISTER

PUBLIC WORKS WATER/WASTEWATER

The following is the Final eligibility register for the position of Public Works Water/Wastewater in the City of Ottawa. It is the result of an examination conducted by the Civil Service Commission on September 26, 2017 and is inclusive of Veteran’s preference points.

1. David Hall 85.44

2. Bryce Roberts 78.64

3. Casey Ocepek 78.64

Order of rank on this register is determined pursuant to Rule VII, section 7.1 of the Civil Service Rules for the City of Ottawa, effective October 25, 2015.

An appointment to said position is contingent upon satisfactorily completing a background check, physical agility test, physical and drug test.

This register is in effect for two years from date of posting.

Kim advised the Commission that due to one employee in the Public Works Water Division, and one employee in the Public Works Wastewater division being off work due to work-related injuries, and an upcoming retire in each department, the City Council has authorized hiring one person for each division at this time.

Moved by Jim Reilly, second by Rob Schmidt to authorize hiring of the next eligible two candidates on the current water/waste eligibility register, following the required posting of the in-house AFSCME

Vacancy Notice. Be it further moved, that should a current employee be approved for a transfer, subsequent hiring is hereby authorized. All ayes. Motion passed.

Moved by Rob Schmitt, second by Rob Jim Reilly that the meeting be adjourned at 1:07 p.m. All ayes. Motion passed.
