The Meeting Was Called To Order AT 7:00 P.M.

Present: Commissioners Rivara, Porter, Zborowski, Argubright, Mayor Finley, Attorney Andreoni And City Clerk Mertes.

A Motion Was Made By Porter, Seconded By Argubright to approve the regular meeting minutes from April 16, 2018. Ayes: Porter, Rivara, Zborowski, Argubright, Finley.

The Mayor opened the floor to comments from the public on agenda items only. There were none.

A Motion Was Made By Rivara, Seconded By Porter to Approve Ordinance 1012-041618, Contractors License & Building Permit. Ayes: Porter, Rivara, Zborowski, Argubright, Finley.

A Motion Was Made By Porter, Seconded By Argubright to Approve Ordinance 1013-050718, Establishing Wages and Benefits for the Oglesby Non Union Employees Except for Those Employees of the Oglesby Ambulance Service. Ayes: Porter, Rivara, Zborowski, Argubright, Finley.

A Motion Was Made By Porter, Seconded By Argubright to place on file Ordinance 1010-052118, Amending Ordinance No. 998-022018 Annexing Certain Territory to the City of Oglesby, LaSalle County to Correct a Scrivener’s Error. Ayes: Porter, Rivara, Zborowski, Argubright, Finley.

A Motion Was Made By Zborowski, Seconded By Argubright to place on file the bids for the Second and Third Street Improvement Projects. Bids were from Universal Asphalt at $170,004.46 and Advanced Asphalt at $197,158.45. Ayes: Porter, Rivara, Zborowski, Argubright, Finley.

A Motion Was Made By Rivara, Seconded By Zborowski to approve the request of the LaSalle County Retired Teachers to place a Little Library near the Dickinson House. Ayes: Porter, Rivara, Zborowski, Argubright, Finley.

A Motion Was Made By Porter, Seconded By Argubright to Approve Conflict of Interest Waivers and Authorize the City of Oglesby to waive the conflict of interests for Jeunnette and Anderson. Ayes: Porter, Rivara, Zborowski, Argubright, Finley.

The Mayor asked for comments from the public. A resident asked what the scope of the 2nd and 3rd St. project is. Commissioner Zborowski said that it is black topping, curb work, and sidewalks. On 2nd St it runs from the dead end to Dale Street. On 3rd St it runs from Columbia to Kenosha.

Commissioner and Mayor’s Report:

Rivara- None

Argubright- Commissioner Argubright said that The City has hired Mark Marincic as the new electric superintendent to replace John Zulkowsky when he retires at the end of June.

Zborowski- Commissioner Zborowski congratulated Mark Ambrose on his retirement from the City on Friday May 4 after 31 years of service. Eric said that residents wanting a sewer credit for filling their pools must contact the City Clerk’s office.

Porter- Commissioner Porter said that he has noticed residents discharging grass clippings on the street. He asked that residents don’t do this because it causes problems for the sewer system.

Mayor Finley- None

A Motion Was Made By Porter, Seconded By Argubright at 7:12pm to enter into Closed Session. Ayes: Porter, Rivara, Zborowski, Argubright, Finley.

A Motion Was Made By Argubright, Seconded By Porter To Enter Back Into Regular Meeting at 7:53pm. Ayes: Porter, Rivara, Zborowski, Argubright, Finley.

Commissioner Porter brought up the topic of transfer pay for the ambulance service. He stated that the only proposed change would be an increase in two categories of $5 each. The commissioners said they didn’t have a problem with that.

A Motion To Adjourn Was Made At 8:00 pm By Porter, Seconded By Zborowski. Ayes: Porter, Rivara, Zborowski, Argubright, Finley.
