VILLAGE OF NEPONSET: Farrell sentenced for sex abuse conviction
Village of Neponset issued the following announcement on June 23.
A former Geneseo High School teacher on Wednesday was sentenced to consecutive five-year sentences on two counts of Class 1 felony criminal sexual abuse of victim between 13 and 17 years of age.
Jayme K. Farrell, 33, of Morrison pleaded guilty to the charges. The other six identical charges were dismissed by the State.
Court records show that Farrell committed the acts between May and July of 2015, and that, “as a teacher at Geneseo High School,” he was in “a position of trust or authority in relation to (the minor)”.
In addition to prison, Farrell was sentenced to three years to life of mandatory supervised release, court costs, fees and he must register as a sex offender. Farrell was advised he may lose his teaching license.
