ILLINOIS VALLEY COMMUNITY HOSPITAL: First baby of 2019 To Be Born

Illinois Valley Community Hospital issued the following announcement on Jan. 9.

The first baby of 2019 to be born at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru arrived Wednesday January 2, 2019 when Cindy Hernandez of LaSalle gave birth to a boy at 9:21pm.

Jesus Lopez Jr entered the world weighing 8 pounds and 7ounces. He was 19 1/2 inches in length at birth.

The child is the first for Hernandez and her partner Jesus Lopez.

Dr. Glenn Helwig delivered the baby.

The last baby of 2018 to be born at IVCH was a girl born December 31st to Lyneatte Elmore of LaSalle.

There were 361 births at IVCH in 2018.
