City of Princeton issued the following announcement on March 4.
The City of Princeton will hold a public hearing on March 11, 2019 at 6:30p.m., at the City Hall, 2 S. Main St. Princeton, IL to provide interested parties an opportunity to express their views on the proposed state funded Illinois Bicycle Path Grant Program project.
On or about March 14, 2019, the City of Princeton intends to apply to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources for a grant from the State of Illinois Bicycle Path Grant program. These funds will be used for a bike path project that includes; extending an existing bike trail north to City County Park. The total amount of Bicycle Path grant funds to be requested is $102,500. The City of Princeton also proposes to expend $102,500 in matching funds. The matching funds will come from a combination of private donations, athletic tax revenue, and in-house labor.
Notice is nearby given that the City of Princeton is seeking state grant funds from the agency listed below to develop a public off-highway trail at the above indicated location. Anyone having comments on this proposal may contact either the City of Princeton or government agency listed below which will be considering the proposal for possible financial grant assistance.
