Village of Diamond Village Board of Commission met Feb. 10

The scheduled meeting of the Diamond Village Board was held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. with Mayor Teresa “Terry” Kernc presiding. Upon a roll call Commissioners present Jeff Kasher, Denise Brown, Dave Warner, and Dean Johnson.

Approval of January 27, 2026, Minutes

Mayor Kernc presented the minutes. MOTION was made by Commissioner Warner, SECOND by Commissioner Kasher to approve January 27, 2026, meeting minutes and place on file. All Ayes: Motion Carried.

Approval of February 10, 2026, Bill List

Mayor Kernc presented the bill list. MOTION was made by Commissioner Brown, SECOND by Commissioner Johnson to approve February 10, 2026, bill list and place it on file. All Ayes: Motion Carried.

Approval of the January 2026 Treasurer’s Report

Mayor Kernc presented treasurer’s report. MOTION made by Commissioner Brown, SECOND by Commissioner Kasher to approve the January 2026 Treasurer’s Report and place it on file. All Ayes: Motion Carried.

New Business

Approve Old Cobb Building Property Lines/Lease

After tabling this item for several board meetings, it was decided Attorney, John Gallo will handle this matter.

Permission for D.a.d.’s Day (Dollars against Diabetes) Fundraiser on June 20, 2026, to use designated intersections for their collections.

Mayor Kernc presented the fundraiser. MOTION was made by Commissioner Warner, SECOND by Commissioner Brown to give permission for D.a.d.’s Day fundraiser on June 20, 2026, to use designated intersections for their collections. All Ayes: Motion Carried.

Approve Ordinance 2026-01; Increasing the Number of Class “A-1” Liquor Licenses

Mayor Kernc presented the ordinance. MOTION was made by Commissioner Kasher, SECOND by Commissioner Johnson to Approve ordinance 2026-01; increasing the number of Class “A-1” liquor licenses. All Ayes: Motion Carried.

Discuss Bid Proposal for Interchange Clean up.

Mayor Kernc presented the proposal. There is no interest at this time in proceeding with the interchange clean up as described in the proposal.

Grundy and Will County Sheriff’s Monthly Update

Mayor Kernc reported there was nothing significant or out of the ordinary to report.

Public Works Department Updates

Public Works Supervisor Jim Dunning stated Huber Works started work today and plans to complete the work by the end of the week. Joliet Electric finished the generator; they will be here to install the week of February 23-27th. And the other high service pump is scheduled to be delivered by the end of the month.
