Here are the minutes provided by the council:

Seneca Village Council held a regularly scheduled Council meeting at Seneca Village Hall on August 4, 2025 and the meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m.

Roll Call: Present: Mayor Olson, Commissioners Higgins and Victor

Absent: Commissioners Peddicord and Weber

Also Present: Village Clerk Jennifer Peddicord, Attorney Bryan Wellner and Village Engineer Casey McCollom

All stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America.

A motion was made by Comm. Higgins and seconded by Comm. Victor to approve the July 21, 2025 council meeting minutes as presented.

Roll Call: Ayes: Olson, Higgins and Victor

Nays: None

Absent: Peddicord and Weber

A motion was made by Comm. Victor and seconded by Comm. Higgins to approve the payment of bills as presented.

COMMUNICATIONS, PETITIONS, REPORTS AND ADDITIONAL AGENDA ITEMS:

Additional Agenda Item: Mayor Olson: National Night Out announcement.

OLD BUSINESS:

COMMISSIONER’S REPORT AND NEW BUSINESS:

PUBLIC PROPERTY, WATER & SEWER – WEBER:

Due to Comm. Weber’s absence, Comm. Higgins presented his agenda items.

Treasurer Figgins spoke regarding a proposed amendment to the American Tower Lease. Discussion took place regarding the proposed amendments and suggestions were made for counter-offers. Ms. Figgins will present the suggested amendments to American Tower and bring back an amendment for approval at the next council meeting.

A motion was made by Comm. Higgins and seconded by Comm. Victor to approve an expenditure to Master Meter, Inc. in the amount of $2,022.00 for annual support.

Absent: Peddicord and Weber

A motion was made by Comm. Higgins and seconded by Comm. Victor to approve an expenditure to Underground Pipe & Valve Co. in the amount of $4,146.00 for supplies for wastewater treatment plant.

This is for additional parts for the pump change out.

ACCOUNTS AND FINANCE – VICTOR:

A motion was made by Comm. Victor and seconded by Comm. Higgins to approve an expenditure to Wex Bank in the amount of $3,502.82 for fuel expenses.

STREETS – HIGGINS:

A motion was made by Comm. Higgins and seconded by Comm. Victor to approve an expenditure to Chamlin & Associates in the amount of $29,569.25 for preliminary engineering for 2025 MFT street maintenance program. Many compliments have been received regarding the new streets.

PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY – PEDDICORD:

None.

PUBLIC AFFAIRS – OLSON:

Mayor Olson announced that National Night Out will take place on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at Crotty Park.

None.

A motion was made by Comm. Higgins and seconded by Comm. Victor to adjourn the council meeting.

The motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 5:42 p.m.
