Mayor Pro-Tem Ptak indicated that he has been asked numerous times if the large fishing lake near Rotary Park open or closed. Alderman Schneider stated that residents can fish there, but it is very difficult to access the lake. Alderman Schneider added that he is currently exploring some funding methods to open up a better route to the lake. The concern is that people are using private property to access the lake. Chief Uranich stated that he has received complaints for alleged trespassing in this area. Discussion followed. The council recommended that the Public Grounds and Real Estate committee meet to discuss the options, included but not limited to officially closing the lake until an access route is developed. Attorney McPhedran suggested the Committee should run the issue by our insurance company to see if they have an opinion on this matter.
