Illinois Valley Community College wraps up men’s golf conference season

The Illinois Valley Community College (IVCC) men’s golf team wrapped up its 2016 Arrowhead Conference season by claiming fourth place at the final league meet last month in Port Byron.

The Eagles carded a team score of 349 in the tourney, which was played on May 4 at Byron Hills Golf Course. Dane Lehr, who earned all-conference honors this spring, led IVCC with an 84. Also for the Eagles, Brandon Godfrey shot an 85, Joe Dudek had an 86 and Bobby Morse shot a 94.

Black Hawk College won the tourney’s team title with a score of 313.

Earlier during the conference season series, the Eagles were fourth at 342 at a Highland College tournament April 29 at Park Hills Golf Course in Freeport. Individually for the Eagles, Lehr and Godfrey each shot an 84, Marv Pflibsen had an 86 and Dudek shot an 88.

Sauk Valley College won the meet with a team score of 300.

In the conference season’s third meet, held at Senica’s Deer Park Golf Club, IVCC finished fourth in the five-team field with a score of 335. Lehr had an 80, Morse shot an 82, Godfrey had an 83, and Dudek shot a 90. Sauk Valley won the tournament with a score of 301.

The Eagles also took fourth at the conference meet April 15 at Emerald Hill Golf Course in Sterling. IVCC had a 343 team score, with Lehr shooting an 82, Morse notching an 83, Pflibsen registering an 88, Godfrey finishing with a 92 and Dudek carding a 90. Sauk Valley won with a score of 297.

To kick off the conference’s spring season, IVCC was fourth on April 12 at Lake Bracken Golf Course in Galesburg. The Eagles had a team score of 352. Lehr shot an 83, Morse had an 87, Pflibsen had a 90,  Godfrey had a 92 and Dudek carded a 95. Black Hawk College won the tournament at 306.  

Sauk Valley won the conference’s season title.
