Several athletes were honored by the La Salle-Peru High School Board of Education. | La Salle-Peru Township High School

The La Salle-Peru High School Board of Education recently honored several student-athletes from the school.

Student-athletes who were honored include members of the girls track team, the boys track team, and Special Olympics competitors in bocce, track and field, and aquatics.

For girls track, those honored were team members Rachel Hickey, Abby Happ, Lindsey Rimes, Janelle Bernardoni, Shay Scheri, Skylar Weiden, Alyssa Pflibsen, Abby Coutre, Melanie Wilson, Kristen Williams, Stephanie Prostko, Shekinah King, Jessica Riggs and Sarah Robinson. Coaches honored included John Beatty, Alexandra West, Pat Carney, Jagun Rimes and Courtney Ewald.

On the boys track team, members honored were Damarie Martin, Aaron Bauer, Rafael Casas, Ryan Pijanowski and Brendon Sebastian, as well as and coaches Marty Makransky, Nick McLaughlin and Tyler Lenox.

Special Olympics bocce competition athletes who were honored were Julie Leach and Maegan Walton, with coaches Monica Davidson and Kathy Prosinski.

Special Olympics track and field event athletes who were honored were Annika Draper, TJ Stangland, Madelyn Hafley and Emily Nadler, plus coaches Monica Davidson and Kathy Prosinski.

The Special Olympics aquatics athlete who was honored was Bishop Stiles, along with coaches Monica Davidson and Kathy Prosinski.

Members of the boys tennis team who were honored by the board were Aaron Pellican, Mason Clark and Jace Hardy, as well as coach Sue McKnight.
