New Business

Chief Bernabei reported vendors are able to bid on the 911 Logging Recorder RFP and/or theRadio Dispatch Console RFP. He provided an overview of IVRDPB and the Joint ETSB that willrepresent the 3 PSAP’s which include LaSalle County, Ottawa and the new entity that will beIVRD. He noted that IVRDPB is currently a planning board, but will become Illinois Valley Regional Dispatch (IVRD) once all final ordinances and IGA’s are passed by the end of June. IVRDwill be located at the Peru Police Department for 1-3 years, with the goal being to eventuallybuild at IVCC. The grant to build at IVCC is held up by state funding. He said IVRD hopes to beoperational by September 1st, but they may still be operating out of 4 sites. Currently rolloverfor LaSalle and Oglesby is handled by Peru. They are prepared to dispatch LaSalle, Oglesby andPeru out of the Peru Police Department as a short term solution. The long-term solution is todispatch all 4 cities (LaSalle, Oglesby, Mendota and Peru) out of Peru.

Answer sheets to any questions posed by vendors will be made available at the next pre-bidconference which will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 23, 2016. In response to a questionregarding backup centers, it was stated that for now Ottawa will likely backup LaSalle, Peru andOglesby while LaSalle County will backup Mendota. The municipalities transitioning services to

IVRD/Peru Police Department may happen in stages, for example starting with LaSalle, followed

by Oglesby and finally Mendota.
