LaSalle City Council considers limiting street parking to aid emergency vehicles

At a meeting this week, the LaSalle City Council discussed a proposal to limit street parking on the city's narrow streets to help emergency vehicles more easily navigate these roads.

PETITIONS

Request from Diz Demes on behalf of the Oakwood Cemetery Association of La Salle

for a monetary donation and related matters.

Request from George Green for a monetary donation to Cruisin’ La Salle being held on

September 17, 2016 with proceeds benefiting La Salle Youth Sports and related

matters.

Request from Ameren Illinois to break ground at the property line between 252 La

Harpe and 136 La Harpe to install pole and 850 Bucklin to retire gas service for

demolition.

Request from Dan Burke on behalf of the La Salle Business Association to close the

500 and 600 Blocks of First Street beginning at 7 a.m. Friday, September 9 until 11

a.m. Sunday, September 11, 2016 for the annual BBQ and Blues and Jazz N’ the

Street festivals.

REPORTS OF CITY OFFICERS

Confirmation and action on straw poll vote regarding the request to block off the street

in front of 1055 Sixth Street from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. for a private party.

Discussion and potential action regarding a comprehensive plan to limit parking on

streets within the City of La Salle that do not allow emergency vehicles to safely

navigate the roadway and related matters.

Authorization of Pay Request #1 for Opperman Construction Co. for the St. Vincent Lift

Station Replacement totaling $18,374.40 and related matters.

NEW BUSINESS

Discussion and potential action regarding Ordinance 2420 concerning the separation of

shared water lines and related matters.

Acceptance of IDOT Compliance Review #70 covering the receipt and disbursement of

Motor Fuel Tax funds by the city for the period beginning January 1, 2015 and ending

December 31, 2015.

ORDINANCES/RESOLUTIONS

Ordinance approving and adopting an extension to the Redevelopment Plan; Projects;

Redevelopment Project Area; and Tax Increment Financing for La Salle Tax Increment

Financing District I and related matters.

COMMENTS

EXECUTIVE SESSION

Regarding pending and/or potential imminent litigation and related matters: Collective

bargaining and related matters, and acquisition and/or sale of city real estate and

related matters and the employment, appointment, performance and/or compensation
