LaSalle County Board plans repairs to park shelter

The LaSalle County Board met Sept. 12 to plan repairs to Horseman’s Loop Shelter.

Chairman Hicks called the meeting toorder at 6:03 p.m.This is the first meeting of our September 2016 Session.Chairman Hicks asked the Clerk to call the roll for Mileage and Per Diem. PRESENT:Stephen Abel, David Zielke, Allen Erbrederis, Charles Borchsenius, Gary Small, Jill Bernal,Larry Butkus, Joseph Savitch, Michael Kasap, Sandi Billard, Tina Busch, Steven Tuftie, Russell Boe, Lou Anne Carretto, Tom Walsh, Douglas Trager, Thomas Thrush, Brian Dose, Ernest Weiss, Robert Lee, Randy Freeman, Jerry Myers, Scott Orban, Walter Roach, Norman Sedlockand Chairman Hicks.ABSENT:Ms. McNally, Ms. Owens, Mr. Oscepinski and Mr. WalterThere were 13ayes claiming mileage.Motion by Mr. Weiss to approve the roll call for mileage and per diem, second by Mr. Sedlock.Voice vote; 25 ayes and 4 absent. Motion carried.SEE RECORD BOOK 215, PG177APPROVAL OF MINUTESChairman Hicks called for any additions or corrections to the August 11th, 2016 minutes. Motion by Mr. Savitch to approve the minutes as presented, second by Mr. Roach.Voice vote;25 ayes and 4 absent. Motion carried.

2PRESENTATION: ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION OF NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOISMs. Bernal introducedMr. Ivan Baker, Director of Economic Corporation of North CentralIllinois who addressed the board giving them an update on the economic progress in NorthCentral Illinois explaining how impressed he was with the area’s leadership.RESOLUTION: (#16-103)RECOGNIZING CARPENTERS LOCAL #195 FOR LABOR ONCATLIN PARKSHELTERA resolution was submitted recognizing Carpenters Local #195 for offering their expertise by providing volunteer man power hours to make the necessary improvements to Horseman’s Loop Shelter and to thank them for their service to the County of LaSalle’s Catlin Park. Volunteers include Dave Argubright, BA, Scott Tuftie, Kevin Stillwell, Daryl Senica, Loren Elk, Justin Kays, Ed Napolski, and Dan Stokes who worked to replace the deteriorating roof on Horseman’s Loop Shelter and to provide the public with a safer and more useable shelter. Mr. Steve Tuftie, County Board Member District 15, presented Carpenter’s #195 BA, Dave Argubright,with a framed copy of the resolution.Motion by Mr. Tuftie to approve the resolution, second by Mr.Thrush. Voice vote; 25 ayes and 4 absent. Motion carried.SEE RECORD BOOK 215, PG178-179Chairman Hicks introduced Lori Bongartz, Chief DeputyCounty Clerk, who was sitting in for LaSalle County Clerk,JoAnn Carretto. He explained there was going to be a change in the order of the agenda.ORDINANCE: (#16-104) PETITION #16-02-Z.C.REQUESTING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT UNDER THE LASALLE COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCEAn ordinance was submitted recommending approval ofPetition #16-02-Z.C.,filed by owners Michael and Kathryn Hillyer,requesting a map amendment to change property located in EagleTownship, Section 27, (#32-27-404-000 & #32-38-321-000) from
