State Rep. David Welter (R-Morris) recently visited Utility Concrete Products in Morris as part of his re-election campaign.
A recent Facebook post shows Welter touring the facility.
“Today, I had the opportunity to tour Utility Concrete Products in Morris. This is a great and growing third-generation family business. We have to work with our business community to make sure we attract and retain good-paying jobs here in Illinois,” the post said.
The post is accompanied by several pictures showing Welter in and around the facility wearing a hard hat.
Welter began his political career by being elected to the Grundy County Board in 2010. He was re-elected to the board in 2012 and shortly afterward became the board’s vice chairman. In 2014, Welter became the board’s chairman.
In June, Welter was unanimously chosen by the 75th Legislative District Appointment Committee to fill the District 75 seat after it was vacated by former state Rep. John Anthony.
As a member of the Grundy County Board, Welter helped cut taxes and promises to do the same in Springfield while also eliminating wasteful spending and funding education.
