The Peru City Council includes two members from each of the city’s four wards. Members meet at 7:30 p.m. every other Monday, except when Monday falls on a holiday, at Peru Municipal Building, 1901 Fourth St.

A regular meeting of the Peru City Council was called to order by Mayor Scott J. Harl in the Peru City Council Chambers on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 7:00 p.m.
City Clerk Dave Bartley called the roll with Aldermen Potthoff, Ferrari, Waldorf, Lukosus, Radtke, Sapienza and Ballard present; Alderman Payton absent; Mayor Harl present.
All joined in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America.

Mayor Harl presented the minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 28, 2016. Alderman Waldorf made a motion that the minutes be received and placed on file. Alderman Lukosus seconded the motion; motion carried.

Mayor Harl presented Peru Police Department Monthly Report for November 2016. Alderman Potthoff made a motion that the reports be received and placed on file. Alderman Waldorf seconded the motion; motion carried.

Alderman Radtke presented the following disbursements for payment on December 14, 2016:

Alderman Potthoff made a motion to update maximum reimbursement amount per project/per year to $33,000 for the Commercial Building Improvement Program (Façade Program). Alderman Potthoff noted the remaining $33,000 in funds and recommend allocating that amount to the Westclox Building. Alderman Potthoff recommended increasing the budget to $100,000 for FY 18 and increasing total reimbursable amount. Alderman Waldorf seconded the motion. City Clerk Dave Bartley called the roll with Aldermen Potthoff, Ferrari, Waldorf, Lukosus, Radtke, Sapienza and Ballard voting aye; Alderman Payton absent; motion carried.
PUBLIC SERVICES COMMITTEE
Alderman Lukosus made a motion to award bid for Digger Derrick Line Truck from Terex in the amount of $260,243.00. Alderman Lukosus seconded the motion. City Clerk Dave Bartley called the roll with Aldermen Potthoff, Ferrari, Waldorf, Lukosus, Radtke, Sapienza and Ballard voting aye; Alderman Payton absent; motion carried.
Alderman Ballard made a motion to approve Engineering Agreement with Chamlin & Associates for Arby’s Trunk Line Sewer project, not to exceed $30,000. Alderman Sapienza seconded the motion. Assistant Corporate Counsel Scott Schweickert presented the minutes of a Planning/Zoning Commission hearing held on December 7, 2016 concerning the petition of Kevin and Lisa Donnell requesting variances for property located at 2603 Seventh Street, Peru, IL. Alderman Lukosus made a motion that the minutes be received, placed on file and concur with the recommendation. Alderman Potthoff seconded the motion; motion carried.
