Stephanie Jeanblanc has been named the next principal of LaSalle-Peru Township High School (LPHS) by the local board of education.
Jeanblanc will become principal effective July 1, replacing Deb Nelson, who is retiring after 20 years of service to the school. Jeanblanc and Nelson will work together the rest of this school year to ensure a smooth transition.
“Mrs. Stephanie Jeanblanc has demonstrated the key qualities necessary to successfully transition into the principal’s office,” LPHS Superintendent Steve Wrobleski said. “Her knowledge of LPHS, our initiatives and future goals will be very helpful in ensuring a smooth transition after many years of steady leadership from Mrs. Deb Nelson. I’m looking forward to Mrs. Jeanblanc working closely with Mrs. Nelson in the second semester as Deb hands over the reins to Stephanie.”
Jeanblanc has been the school's associate principal for support services since July 2012 and has worked for the school since 1996. She previously served as the high school's assistant principal for special education and also as a school social worker.
Jeanblanc earned her bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of St. Francis and her master’s degree in school social work from Aurora University.
