Illinois Valley Community College (IVCC) has teamed up with Starved Rock Lodge to offer the Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS) program, required as part of the Illinois’ Beverage Alcohol Sellers/Servers Education and Training (BASSET) program.
The most recent TIPS session was held 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, at the La Salle Room at Starved Rock Lodge, 2668 E. 875th Road in Oglesby,
Another session will be held Feb. 22 at the same time and location.
Two years ago, Illinois enacted Public Act 99-0046 that requires all workers who serve alcohol or who check identifications for alcohol service to complete a BASSET class every three years. Workers in the counties of La Salle, Bureau, Lee, Grundy and Kendall must comply with the rule by July 1.
The class costs $40 per person. Those participating may bring lunch or buy lunch at the lodge.
