Students who are enrolled at Illinois Valley Community College (IVCC) and seeking a course on computers now have the chance to get involved.
Beginning earlier this month, IVCC started offering numerous computer classes at both the Oglesby and Ottawa campuses, the college reported.
During the courses, students learn how to do “basic features” on a computer.
“Students will learn features of My Computer, Recycle Bin, shortcuts, install programs, delete and restore files, and more,” according to IVCC.
Participants will learn how to use more intensive computer programs, as well.
There are many computer courses ranging from $199 to $99. The two courses for $99 are Computer Basics and Beginning Excel 2016. The $199 course is geared more toward using QuickBooks Pro. According to the college, this course is great for those who are “paying bills, recording payments and analyzing financial data then work their way up to advanced functions such as job costing, tracking, working with balance sheets, etc.”
Enrolled students will receive “a 4GB flash drive and 140-day trial software,” IVCC reported; however, students do need to purchase the course-appropriate textbook.
