Illinois Valley Community College (IVCC) now offers night dance classes, designed for anyone in need of a little extra help preparing for wedding reception dancing.
The “Wedding Reception Survival” classes will run 7-8:15 p.m. tomorrow, Feb. 7, through March 14. Classes will be held at the Oglesby Lincoln School’s gymnasium, IVCC announced.
During the courses, “Jane and Rodney Schomas will teach students the moves to get out and have fun on the dance floor,” according to IVCC. These dances include the “Electric Slide, Cha Cha Slide, Swing, Waltz and slow dance moves.”
Also during February, IVCC will be offering more dance classes for those wishing to learn the Two Step and Latin Rhythm.
To attend, participants are required to sign up either online or by calling 815-224-0427. In addition, everyone must have an available dance partner to bring to all classes. The cost is $56 per class.
IVCC is a public college. It endeavors to exemplify “quality teaching and encourage lifelong learning to prepare responsible citizens.”
“(IVCC) recognizes students as the primary reason we exist," according to the college. "Students are welcomed into a caring and secure environment in which their individual needs and interests are addressed. We appreciate their achievements and contributions to our community.”
