Youth soccer, tennis programs start soon at Streator YMCA

Youth programs for soccer and tennis will be starting soon at the Streator YMCA, according to the organization's online guide.

The instructional indoor-soccer league will have the opener of its five-game season on March 18.

The league has groups for kids in pre-K and those in kindergarten to first grade. Cost to enroll is $30 for members and $45 for nonmembers. Cost includes a T-shirt and a participation medal.

Also, the Midwest Youth Team Tennis class will start March 1 and run Wednesdays through April 5. The format is designed for easier play, with the class for kids ages 5-10. The 5-7 age group will have class from 5-6 p.m., with the 8-10 age group going from 6-7 p.m. Cost to participate is $60; registration is at MidwestTeamTennis.com and the entry fee includes equipment, a T-shirt and USTA Jr. membership.
