Expressing enthusiasm about his appointments to five different committees as the 100th Illinois Congress convenes, State Rep. David Welter (R-Morris) recently brought district denizens up to date on his latest responsibilities via his website.
The congressman, sworn in to represent Illinois' 75th District in July 2016, listed the Public Utilities Committee; Public Safety Appropriations Committee; Special Committee on Police and First Responders; Committee on Counties and Townships; and the Energy Committee.
Welter conveyed satisfaction regarding the relevance of his committee assignments, noting that many residents throughout his jurisdiction work in the energy sector. He referred to the work groups as “an excellent venue to advocate on their behalf.”
“I look forward to being your voice in Springfield,” Welter stated on his website. “I am extremely excited to use my knowledge of counties and townships from my time on the Grundy County board. I believe this is the perfect time to enact good government reforms.”
Prior to his appointment as representative, Welter had served on the Grundy County board since 2010. Professionally, he brings a background in Human Resources and procurement with a private sector business.
Welter encouraged constituents across his district to contact him with questions or concerns.
“My door is always open,” he stated on his website. “We are happy to help.”
