Equally enthusiastic about his recent election to Illinois’ 100th Congress and multiple committee appointments, State Rep. David Welter (R-Morris) recently brought 75th District constituents up to date on his responsibilities and priorities via his website.

While the desire to pass a balanced budget in Springfield should come as no surprise to Welter’s voter base, district dwellers might not know that the Morris native — the youngest of six siblings — considers himself “driven”; previously worked as a human resources manager; and also has a passion for model rockets.

“I look forward to being your voice in Springfield,” Welter recently stated on his website. “I am extremely excited to use my knowledge of counties and townships from my time on the Grundy County board. I believe this is the perfect time to enact good government reforms.”

Serving since July 2016, Welter has been assigned thus far to five congressional committees: Public Utilities; Public Safety Appropriations; Energy; the Special Committee on Police and First Responders; and the Committee on Counties and Townships.

The former HR professional -- who gained procurement experience with a private sector company and recently supported a measure dubbed the Future Energy Jobs Bill (SB 2814) to provide clean energy for Illinois -- took the opportunity to welcome communication from residents in and around his home turf.

“My door is always open,” he said via his website.

The 75th District includes portions of Kendall, Grundy, Will and LaSalle counties, and all or part of the municipalities of Minooka, Channahon, Morris, Seneca, Marseilles, Sheridan and Plano.
