The LaSalle-Peru Township High School (LPHS) Board of Education recently voted to create a Hall of Honor to recognize school alumni, educators and supporters for their achievements in the arts, academics, athletics and other fields.
The Hall of Honor will highlight the achievements of inductees in an effort to inspire students to strive for their best. Inductees will be chosen and honored every year.
LPHS intends to create its first Hall of Honor class in fall 2017. Inductees can be nominated by anyone. A nine-member committee, made up of school district leaders, former coaches, teachers and volunteers will choose the individuals who will be honored each year.
Once a person is nominated, he or she will stay among the nominee pool for future consideration. Nominations for the first Hall of Honor must be submitted by July 1. To nominate someone for consideration for the Hall of Honor, call LPHS Director of Athletics and Activities Chris Kirkpatrick at 815-220-2772, or submit a nomination online at http://www.lphs.net/lphallofhonor.
