Easy to see why IVCC wins finance report award again

Illinois Valley Community College (IVCC) makes it look easy -- which is exactly why it won its fifth straight annual award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) recently.

The award is given to establishments that extract important data from their larger financial report and create a readily accessible "popular" report that anyone without a background in finance could easily understand.

“Receiving this distinguished award yet again is quite an honor and a significant achievement for the college,” Cheryl Roelfsema, vice president of business services and finance, said.

The Popular Annual Financial Report award is handed out following an independent panel’s review of reports based on presentation, readability, appeal and creativity.

“Cheryl, Controller Kathy Ross and Administrative Assistant Dawn Watson should be commended for their continued fine work in developing the college’s Popular Annual Financial Report,” IVCC President Jerry Corcoran said. “I am very proud of their hard work and commitment to excellence.”

The full report is available at www.ivcc.edu/businessservices.aspx?id=19869.

The GFOA is a not-for-profit organization that serves more than 17,000 finance professionals in North America.
