Leland ranked 513th in state in lottery ticket sales for January 2016

The Village of Leland had the 513th highest lottery ticket net sales statewide per capita for the month of January 2016 -- up 120 spots from its December ranking.

A close look at sales by city shows that the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita in LaSalle County in 2015 were Wenona, Peru, Grand Ridge, Streator and Ottawa.

Statewide, the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita were Forest View, Burnt Prairie, McCook, Mapleton and Merrionette Park.

The top five cities in the state generated $5,496,719 in net sales -- 1 percent of the state's 2015 net sales amounting to $2,793,271,709.50.
