Brookfield ranked 423rd in state in lottery ticket sales for June 2016

The Village of Brookfield had the 423rd highest lottery ticket net sales statewide per capita for the month of June 2016 -- down 44 spots from its May ranking.

The per capita lottery ticket sales in Brookfield was $18.92 per person.

Based on monthly sales records obtained by the Illinois Valley Times, Brookfield generated $358,439.50 in net sales from its 12 lottery retailers in June 2016, compared to $410,518 in June 2015.

The Village of Brookfield is in Cook County, and has a population of 18,944, according to 2010 census data. Neighboring municipalities are La Grange, La Grange Park, Broadview, Lyons, McCook, Riverside, Countryside and North Riverside.

Average sales for municipalities in the region in June 2016 was $41,369.28.

Brookfield's top lottery retailer is Maple Quick Mart located at 3045 Maple Ave, Brookfield, IL 60513.

Maple Quick Mart generated 19 percent of Brookfield's June 2016 lottery ticket sales and 1 percent of Cook County's sales that month, which was $129,361,739.50.

A close look at sales by city shows that the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita in Cook County in 2015 were Forest View, McCook, Merrionette Park, Calumet Park and Hodgkins.

Statewide, the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita were Forest View, Burnt Prairie, McCook, Mapleton and Merrionette Park.

The top five cities in the state generated $5,496,719 in net sales -- 1 percent of the state's 2015 net sales amounting to $2,793,271,709.50.
