Peru Committee of the Whole reviews bids for landfill sampling

Peru Committee of the Whole met Monday, Feb. 20.

The committee of the whole consists of all members of the Peru City Council.

Here are the minutes as provided by Peru:

COMMITTEE OF A WHOLE MEETING FEBRUARY 20, 2017

A Committee Of A Whole meeting was called to order by City Clerk Dave Bartley in the Peru City Council Chambers on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 6:00 p.m.

City Clerk Dave Bartley called the roll with Aldermen Potthoff, Ferrari, Waldorf, Lukosus, Radtke, Sapienza, Payton and Ballard present; Mayor Harl present.

MINUTES

City Clerk Dave Bartley presented the Committee Of A Whole Minutes of January 23, 2017. Alderman Potthoff made a motion that the minutes be received and placed on file. Alderman Ferrari seconded the motion; motion carried.

Mayor Harl asked for a motion to go into closed session to discuss meetings held to discuss litigation when an action against, affecting, or on behalf of the particular body has been filled and is pending in a court or administrative tribunal, or when the public body finds that such an action is probable or imminent; meetings where the purchase or lease of real property for the use of the public body is being considered, including meetings held for the purpose of discussion whether a particular parcel should be acquired, or where the public body is considering the setting of a price for sale or lease of its property and meetings to consider the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees, including the public body’s legal counsel or to hear testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee to determine its validity. Alderman Potthoff made a motion to go into closed session. Alderman Payton seconded the motion. City Clerk Dave Bartley called the roll with Aldermen Potthoff, Ferrari, Waldorf, Lukosus, Radtke, Sapienza, Payton and Ballard voting aye; motion carried.

Closed session began at 6:04 p.m.; ended 6:50 p.m.

Alderman Radtke made a motion to re-open the meeting. Alderman Ferrari seconded the motion. City Clerk Dave Bartley called the roll with Aldermen Potthoff, Ferrari, Waldorf, Lukosus, Radtke, Sapienza, Payton and Ballard present; Mayor Harl present.

FINANCE AND SAFETY SERVICES COMMITTEE

PUBLIC SERVICES COMMITTEE

City Engineer Eric Carls reviewed the items on the Regular Meeting agenda:

· Mausoleum Rehabilitation

· EWWTP Clarifier

· Taxiway Phase 2 Engineering Agreement

· Bar Screening Engineering Agreement

· Marathon Gas Demolition

City Engineer Eric Carls reviewed the landfill sampling bids and reported the current vendor, PDC Laboratories, was the lowest responsible bidder.

PUBLIC COMMENT

Alderman Waldorf made a motion that the meeting be adjourned. Alderman Ferrari seconded the motion and motion carried. Meeting adjourned 6:51 p.m.
