Health week is alive and well in LaSalle

Doc

The LaSalle County Health Department (LCDH) has a prescription for everyone this week: Come take part in National Public Health Week.

The LCHD is working to boost awareness of public health issues as part of an annual campaign by the American Public Health Association (APHA) that unites communities across the country. The health department will post daily programs on its Facebook page through the end of the event on Sunday.

The LCDH focuses on preventing diseases and food-borne illnesses, eliminating environmental toxins, preventing injuries and similar issues of interest to the general public.

Educational reading materials on a number of health-related topics are available this week (and always) in the lobby of the health department, 717 Etna Road in Ottawa.

The LCDH is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

For more information about its programs or literature, please call 815-433-3366 or visit www.lasallecounty.org.
