The Streator YMCA will have two big events for youth in the month of July.
The inaugural cardboard-boat races will take place Saturday, July 22, for members only and open to “Streator YMCA Annual and Bank Draft Members,” according to the summer program guide on the organization's website. The event is for participants ages 5 years and older and will need to bring their own self-constructed boats. Deadline to register is Friday, July 14. More information on this event is scheduled to be released in June.
Also, the Streator YMCA will have a Nerf-battle camp from 10 to 11 a.m. July 17-20 for first through eighth graders. The YMCA will have equipment available. Costs to participate are $15 for members and $25 for nonmembers.
