Monthly Safety Topic
• Fatigue and employee safety – Recharge to be in Charge handout
o Fatigue is defines as the body’s response to sleep deprivation or lengthy physical or mental hard work.
o Risk factors for occupational fatigue include long hours, a heavy workload, lack of sleep, environmental factors and medical conditions.
o Effects of fatigue can include slower reaction time, more errors and decreased cognitive ability.

• LaSalle County Detention Home Wellness Policy
