The following minutes were recorded for the Regular Board of Education Meeting of the Tonica Community Consolidated Grade School District #79, LaSalle County, May 17, 2017 at 7:03 p.m. in the Media Center.

I. Routine Business

President Brian Marcinkus convened the board meeting at 7:03 p.m. Al Leffelman, Julie Rietgraf, Jackie Anderson, Tony Bernardoni, Nikki Freeman, and Ritch Fundell were present.

Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Additional Attendees: Jim Whitmore (Interim Superintendent), Charles Schneider (Principal), Amy Mareta, Zach Pratt (Tonica News)

Motion by Anderson, 2nd by Leffelman to approve consent agenda. Motion Carried.

II. New Business

• Motion by Rietgraf, 2nd by Freeman to approve maternity leave as presented. Motion Carried.

• Motion by Anderson, 2nd by Leffelman to approve Nick Heuser as head baseball coach for 2017 – 2018; tabled athletic director. Motion Carried.

• Motion by Rietgraf, 2nd by Anderson to approve Brad Keutzer as the assistant volunteer baseball coach for 2017 – 2018. Motion Carried.

• Motion by Rietgraf, 2nd by Leffelman to approve Jackie Anderson as the head softball coach for the 2017 – 2018 school year, not to exceed compensation limits as a board member of Tonica School District 79. Motion Carried.

• Motion by Fundell, 2nd by Freeman to approve David Hillyer as the assistant volunteer softball coach for 2017 – 2018. Motion Carried.

• Motion by Fundell, 2nd by Freeman to approve Michael Ellerbrock at $12.00 per hour as a summer worker. Motion Carried.

• Motion by Rietgraf, 2nd by Freeman to approve the Intergovernmental Agreement with Peru School District to share a Speech Pathologist for the 2017 – 2017 school year. Motion Carried.

• Motion by Fundell, 2nd by Leffelman to enter into executive session at 7:25 p.m. Motion Carried.

• Motion by Leffelman, 2nd by Rietgraf to approve Matthew Huska at $9.00 per hour as a summer worker. Motion Carried.

• Motion by Rietgraf, 2nd by Freeman to approve David Hillyer at $9.00 per hour as a summer worker. Motion Carried.

• Motion by Leffelman, 2nd by Fundell to enter into executive session at 9:07 p.m. Motion Carried.

III. Adjournment

• Motion by Leffelman, 2nd by Fundell to adjourn regular board meeting at 11:15 p.m. Motion Carried
