Long offers free document shredding to LaSalle area

Shredded paper(1000)

LaSalle area residents can safely dispose of sensitive documents on Saturday at a free shredding event hosted by Rep. Jerry Long (R-Streator) at LaSalle-Peru High School, according to his website.

“This event is an effort to prevent identity theft in our community,” Long said in a statement. “I encourage all district residents to come out and have their personal documents shredded, free of charge.”

The shredding will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon, or until the shred truck reaches capacity. Shredding is intended for personal use only, and each car is permitted to bring a maximum of two bags of documents. Those attending can choose between dropping off their documents or parking to watch while their documents are shredded.
