Long offers free document shredding to LaSalle area
LaSalle area residents can safely dispose of sensitive documents on Saturday at a free shredding event hosted by Rep. Jerry Long (R-Streator) at LaSalle-Peru High School, according to his website.
“This event is an effort to prevent identity theft in our community,” Long said in a statement. “I encourage all district residents to come out and have their personal documents shredded, free of charge.”
The shredding will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon, or until the shred truck reaches capacity. Shredding is intended for personal use only, and each car is permitted to bring a maximum of two bags of documents. Those attending can choose between dropping off their documents or parking to watch while their documents are shredded.
LaSalle-Peru High School is located at 541 Chartres Street, and the shred event will take place at the parking lot between Creve Coeur and Charles streets. Participants should enter via Creve Coeur Street.
