Welter offers free children's health fair in Morris

Children education

After-school programs, nutrition, internet safety, bike safety and the Illinois State Treasurer’s I-Cash program are just some of the topics that will be covered during a heath and safety fair for kids being hosted by Rep. David Welter (R-Morris) on Sept. 16 at Saratoga Elementary School in Morris, according to a press release.

“As parents, my wife and I value the many outstanding individuals and organizations in our community who offer programs and services that help kids to grow, learn, and explore many interests,” Welter said in the release. “Our Children’s Health & Safety Fair showcases the tremendous local resources and activities available to kids right here in our own backyard. I encourage every local family to stop by and check out all that our community has to offer.”

More than 30 vendors will be on hand, including local businesses and local, state and county government organizations. Children will enjoy a presentation from the Traveling World of Reptiles and the Touch a Truck exhibit, which will let them get up close and personal with vehicles like a firetruck, medical helicopter, utility truck and police car.
