Gov. Bruce Rauner visited a Japanese company that has an Illinois affiliate in Peru that employees more than 400 people, Sen. Sue Rezin (R-Morris) posted on Facebook recently about the governor's overseas trip.
According to Rezin, Rauner's trade mission included a stop at Sakae Riken Kogyo Co., the parent company of Eakas that has been in business for 45 years. The Eakas facility in Peru has been in operation since 1989, the company’s website says. The facility primarily focuses on plastic automotive parts.
Eakas has two other facilities in the United States and is a top supplier for automotive manufacturers. The company produces everything from door handles and body side moldings to chrome-plated wheel covers and front-grille assemblies.
