Princeton Rural FPD responds to 39 fires in 2016

Princeton Rural Fire Protection District responded to 92 calls in 2016, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System obtained by the Illinois Valley Times.

The calls in Princeton Rural included 39 fires - 10 structure fires, 11 vehicle fires and 18 other fires.

In all, the department saw $124,200 in fire loss - or about $3,185 per fire.

The department also received 53 false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related death. Additionally, one fire service member was injured in non fire-related incidents.
