Streator-based Teleweld has been recognized for its health and safety record by the Illinois Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), according to a press release.
The welding contractor known for its railroad work completed an on-site consultation program that helped it earn a place in OSHA's Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program.
“This is very exciting for the company and we want to thank current and past employees who helped achieve SHARP certification,” Teleweld President Mike Supergan said in the release. “Everyone worked very hard and we will strive to make continued improvement to ensure the safety of our employees.”
Illinois OSHA Division Manager Ben Noven said that Teleweld has made it clear that employee safety is an important part of its business plan.
“Teleweld has proven that it is dedicated to workplace safety,” Noven said in the release. “They have an excellent injury prevention program, which should serve as an example for other businesses across the state.”
