The LaSalle Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the family of a late radiologic technologist have teamed up to help a local hospital.
The family of the late Marge Murphy, who worked in the Illinois Valley Community Hospital's diagnostic imaging department for 36 years, paired with the LaSalle VFW to donate $1,000 to the hospital toward the purchase of a new MRI unit.
Murphy's husband, Elton, and their daughter, Barbara Sweger, presented the checks to department Director Cindy Herrmann alongside Kevin Swierkosz, a representative of the LaSalle VFW.
